MICHAEL R. FORSUM, West Region President of Starwood Land Ventures based in Irvine, Calif. For the past 18 years, Mr. Forsum has been a leader in the homebuilding industry, carrying on a family tradition in construction.

Prior to joining Starwood Land Ventures, Forsum headed Taylor Morrison’s (formerly Taylor Woodrow) western region for seven years with responsibility for operations in Arizona, California and Colorado. During his tenure at Taylor Woodrow, Forsum was credited with streamlining the luxury home builder’s western operations while successfully repositioning the company’s products to more attainable price points. Forsum was also the driving force behind Taylor Woodrow’s entry into new markets across California and Arizona. Former leadership roles as division president with KB Homes and Ryland Homes garnered Forsum the insight to capture new market growth, start-up divisions and rebuild operations.

Mr. Forsum earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Arizona State University and holds a California State Contractor’s License. He currently serves as a board member of HomeAid America and the Orange Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
